The Hidden Valley is an opportunity for people to step into the story of our recent film ‘The Long Traverse’. Throughout the creation of this film, we learned about the richness, beauty, and complexity of the Cuyama Valley, and we want to share this special place and community with others.

More than a bike ride
Riding in a new place is all about exploration – of the land, a community, and of yourself. Stilspoke’s The Hidden Valley will help people root themselves in a deeper experience than a typical cycling event. The weekend will be a whole lot of fun, but it will also help us understand the complex issues and opportunities of the Cuyama Valley, along with the unique power outdoor recreation can have in advocating for the environment and communities.
The riding portion of this experience, led by Sage Trail Alliance, will involve short, medium, and long distance options for riders of any level. We will primarily be riding on gravel roads with some loose rocks. We recommend you bring a mountain bike, but if you are a skilled rider, a gravel bike will be sufficient. We ask you to please bring all your own cycling gear.Â
Ride snacks, water, and mechanical support will be offered by Stilspoke and Sage Trail Alliance.
